Februarys 'Orange' Favourites

coral-make-up
After January's Pink Favourites I thought I would continue the theme and make this month my 'Orange' Favourites! It seems that I get drawn to a colour each month, In January it was pretty dreary and rainy and so I was drawn to bright pinks and throughout February I've been excited for spring and have been drawn to oranges!

Balance me wonder eye cream - After using up two samples of this from a glossybox and a magazine I got full size 15ml for £20. I love this eye cream, I use it in the morning as it really brightens and hydrates under my eyes and with continued use has helped reduce my dark circles. It has great ingredients such as chamomile, brightening lemon, cucumber, coconut and rose hip oils and hyaluronic acid.

Bourjois Healthy mix Blusher in 41 - Swatched here This is supposedly a dupe for Chanel Reflux blush, its such a pretty coral orange shade that is perfect for Spring and really makes the skin look glowing!

Revlon Lip butter in Tutti Fruitti - The perfect subtle orange lip it is quite sheer and pretty rather than being a bold orange. I love the texture of these and how easy they are to apply, I always seem to pop a Revlon lip butter in my bag and this month it's been Tutti Frutti!

Real Techniques Powder Brush - Real techniques are my favourite brushes and this powder brush is amazing, it is so soft and huge! It creates a smooth, even finish and is perfect for quick bronzing or powdering.

Ciate Nail Varnish in Hopscotch - This is a bright orange, fun nail varnish perfect for Spring and summer.

Hugo Boss Orange - I found this perfume whilst having a clear out and I had forgotten how much I love this smell, it takes me back to happy summers spent driving around with friends giggling and listening to music with the roof down. For me it's a real 'free spirit' scent with orange blossom, vanilla, apple and sandalwood notes.

Nuxe Reve de Miel

nuxe-reve-de-miel

This is my winter lip saviour.

When I first opened the pot to try this, I found the product really difficult to work with and hard to even to pick up on my finger as it's so thick. It's quite pricey for a lip balm and so I didn't want to use lots but it just didn't want to stick to my finger! I had to scrape off a little and smear it onto my lips. I then went to bed, feeling pretty disappointed. However, the next morning my lips felt amazing. The night before they had been dry and painful due to the cold weather but after leaving this on my lips all night, they were soft, smooth and plump.

I've learnt that the trick with this is that you need warm hands, or to swirl your finger in the pot to warm the product up a little before patting and pressing the balm onto your lips. You need hardly any of this Nuxe lip balm, a little really does go a long way. I'm used to having to use a lot of lip balm and this feels strange, like it doesn't leave much residue on your lips or like you haven't used enough, but the results for me are amazing.
It also smells lovely, like citrus and honey and it includes ingredients such as honey, sweet almond oil, calendula, Shea butter and grapefruit essence.

Have you tried this? Whats your favourite lip balm?

Micellar waters - Bioderma and Garnier

Micellar-water

In Vienna last year, I stumbled upon a pretty little pharmacy that sold Bioderma. I paid €19 for a 500ml bottle which is roughly £15. I tried it that night at the hotel and fell in love. The next day my boyfriend bought me this little €7 travel sized bottle so that I could use it and keep the bottle to use whenever I'm away from home as the 500ml size can be quite heavy to carry around!

A Micellar water consists of microscopic oils held in water molecules so that they cleanse the skin gently and effectively. Bioderma removes make up well, contains cucumber extract making it gentle on the skin and it feels like you are just using water to remove your make up. I have combination skin and I feel it works well with my skin and doesn't dry it out or leave it feeling oily.

I bought a 400ml bottle of Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in savers for £2.99 which is a lot more affordable than Bioderma. The Garnier Micellar water feels less gentle on my skin, It can leave my skin a little red but for me it still removes make up as well, if not better than Bioderma.

Due to this I use them both for different jobs. I use Bioderma as a cleanser after a face wipe to cleanse my skin and remove any last traces of make up before I moisturise and I use the Garnier Micellar water as a Make up remover as it really strips everything away. I'm not sure if I will repurchase the Garnier Micellar water but it's definitely great to try if you can't get your hands on some Bioderma!

What is your favourite Micellar water?

I went for bright lips, a high messy pony and golden shimmery eyes for this Valentines day make up look! Not your typical red lip and smokey eye Valentines Make up but it's fun, flirty and perfect if like me you don't spend Valentines day doing too much!
I don't really have any plans for Valentines day yet, me and Alex will probably just watch a film and I'll cook a nice meal!

What I'm wearing:

Face -

Eyes -
Mac Naked pigment all over the lid
Mac Woodwinked blended in the crease and on lower lashes
Mac eyeshadow in Day Gleam in the centre of the lid for shimmer

Lips -
Revlon Wild Orchid (A great alternative to MAC Show Orchid)

Let me know if you try this valentines day make up look!

January's 'Pink' Favourites

pink-make-up

These are my current favourite 'Pinks'. During January's dreary rainy days, a pop of pink felt like just what I needed to brighten up my days!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette - My full review of this palette is here. I've been wearing 'Dust' all over the lid and 'Nooner' in the crease and under the lower lashes a lot this month which is great for a pretty and natural every day look.

Nars Orgasm - Nars blushers are lovely, so pigmented long lasting and such pretty colours. I'm looking to expand my collection soon as I've been loving this pretty pink shade so much!

Revlon Lip Butter Sweet Tart - This gives a pretty bright pink lip without looking too bold. It's my favourite lip butter shade, I feel it brightens up my complexion and is easy to apply for a sheer pink lip.

Essie A cut above - A pink gitter nail varnish with various sized glitter chunks, I've loved wearing this over a grey nail varnish this month. Full review here

So far in February I've been lusting after Nars Gina and Luster and reaching for Revlon Audacious Matte balm and Revlon Lip butter in Tutti Frutti. Something tells me the theme for this month is going to be orange!
